12 THINGS I LEARNED FROM A 36 DAY SOCIAL MEDIA DETOX

DSC_0985

My 36 days “self-imposed” social media detox is finally over and it wouldn’t be meaningful without a “take away”, so here I am with my 12,,,, Happy Easter and yes I missed you too (big hugs and loud kisses for all of you guys) haha.

1.Life goes on without Facebook, Instagram and stalking blogs.

2.We choose our own addiction and no one can help us out of it but us.

3.That passion is harder to give up than an addiction, I missed blogging the most.

4.When you tell your brain, you can! your brain has no choice but to follow, and I guess you know what happens when you say “you can’t”.

5.There are other ways to get in touch.

6.I don’t need social media to tell people I love them.

7.Everything is learned, and that includes “moving on”.

8.Social media is not bad, it’s the way we use and abuse it that makes it bad (moderation Bing, moderation).
9.Nature has more character than the filtered version on social media.

10.That I could actually read faster than I thought.

11. I can stay updated without having to constantly scroll my phone (actually it’s Boyfriend’s phone).

12. Lack of time for something important in our lives is not the virtual world’s fault, IT’S OURS.

The 1st 72 hours was the hardest,  on the 5th day, I felt accomplished already, imagine how I felt on the 20th day, and the last day is when I had to pause and really think of what I’ve just been through.

Thanks for coming over, I’m officially back blogging (not being able to blog was actually the hardest arrrgh, I’m not doing that again), officially an FB and IG USER again, but definitely not an ABUSER anymore.

Happy Easter guys? have you had a detox lately? and what’s your take away?

I don’t know how you did 36 days with no social media. I think it would be really hard for me, and I would probably give up on the second half of day 1 lol! But I’m glad that you accomplished it, and have had so many beautiful lessons. Thanks for sharing this experience with us! Hope you have great rest of the week!

So glad you are back, and impressed you stayed away, too!
It is hard to keep everything in the right balance, but real life should be more fun and fulfilling than a virtual one.

Glad to see you back, dear, and glad you found some meaning in the being gone. I took a few days off myself, just lost interest all of a sudden, no great trigger for it just sounded dull for a while. A now I am still not fully back but about half. Very interesting points you discovered and I am certainly in agreement on them! Have to admit my favorite part of your return was the picture after point 3. My goodness, dear, so lovely and sexy!! Could not resist enjoying that one fully 😉 And now you are officially welcomed back 🙂 Big hugs!
