Green Tea Sticky Rice Balls
My obsession for green tea has been keeping my imagination and kitchen busy,in fact today I’m gonna share another easy recipe with only four ingredients.
This recipe is inspired by a Filipino dessert called “palitaw” which means “floater or floating”,and you will see why it’s called that way,so here we go,as I always say have fun making your version and Good luck.
1 cup water
2 cups sweet rice flour
1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder
1 cup sweetened dessicated coconut or 1 cup freshly grated coconut mixed with 1/2 cup white sugar
(I used the dessicated coconut in this recipe)
FOLLOW THE PHOTOS FOR INSTRUCTIONS:
1.Mix sweet rice flour and green tea together.
2.Add water to the mixture, remember to add 1/4 cup at a time until desired consistency is achieved.
3.And because I want the sizes to be uniform,I used an ice cream scoop to mold the sweet rice balls(oc-oc lang).
4.The measurement provided will make 25 balls, enough to feed our family of five.
5.Pour about 4 cups of water to a medium wok and bring it to a boil, then add your sweet rice balls one at a time(I promise that water is boiling, see the little bubbles at the bottom???).
6.And here’s the reason why it’s called “palitaw” or “float” because the sticky rice balls will float when they’re done.
8.Drizzle the sticky rice balls with your grated coconut or roll them on the coconut(Gosh it’s hard to speak english,or write english,,,).
9.AND!!! IT WILL NOT BE “BING YOUR STYLE” WITHOUT STYLING THESE GREEN BALLS,I HAVE TO PUT POPSICLE STICKS ON THEM,,,,,,STYLISH RIGHT???WHAT DO YOU THINK???
10.And take lots of photos for your FB and Instagram account, but don’t forget to mention my blog when you do that, promise???
Thanx for visiting my blog,xoxo.
