IS VALENTINE’S DAY COMMERCIALIZED

DSC_0422

I’m neither “pro” nor “anti” Valentine’s day believer, whether couples celebrate it or not, it’s a choice we have to respect, who am I to tell this occasion is too commercialized?, who am I to say that my way of celebrating it is better than others.

Sure media, advertisers, diamonds, flowers, hotels and chocolate companies take advantage of this occasion every year, but still! no “business men” can force anybody to commercialize a genuine LOVE, because true LOVE has no price tag.

I on the other hand, have a way of taking advantage of this occasion. I take advantage of the post Valentine’s day chocolate sale, guess what?all Valentine’s packaged chocolates are 50% off after Feb.14,awesome right?

Now whether you celebrate Valentine’s day or not, here’s a HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY greeting from the big bing theory, xoxo ♥

Thanks for coming over, how was your Valentine’s day?

AWW, sweet love under a blanket, and I know it is the real thing!!
I agree it is a Hallmark holiday, but I am a sucker for red dresses and romance, and !/2 chocolate, too!
That said, I always celebrate dinner out on a different day, to avoid the crowds and over prized menus. I love staying at home with Hubby on this day, and having a nice quiet night!
    Great post dear Bing!

I am right with you. I think some people can get too belligerent about hating the day while others feel so much pressure to spend tons of money and go all out – but at the end of the day it’s not the holiday itself but how you choose to celebrate it (or not!) that matters most. We should do things for people we love because we WANT to not because we feel forced to, but also if the day reminds us to be a bit more vigilant, why not take advantage of it in unique, non commercial ways?

Yes everything is commecialized today. I am surprised Valentine’s Day does not have an official sponsor like a sporting event. Happy Valvoline Valentine Day to one and all. Very cute shots of you and your lucky valentine fella. Many hugs!
